Payment function

The multifunctional chip cards provide access to the local Student Services (Studierendenwerk) payment system. This means that you can pay with your chip card in the Mensas in Greifswald, Stralsund and Neubrandenburg. The prerequisite for this is that sufficient credit is added to the chip cards at the top-up machines in Greifswald.

Technically, the payment function is available to you, but its use is entirely voluntary. No additional personal data will be stored or passed on to Student Services. Only the "Status=Employee" parameter required by Student Services is stored on the card.

Before returning your staff ID card to the university (e.g. due to the end of your contract or if you no longer require the card), please have any remaining credit on your account paid out to you by Student Services if you have used the payment service.

If you lose your card or it no longer works, any remaining credit can be paid out to you. This is not possible with the anonymous green Mensa cards.
