Account deletion

When user accounts expire, the URZ usually grants you a grace period of 30 weeks.

You will receive three corresponding expiry notices by e-mail. During this time, you can continue to use your account as usual. After this period, your account will be deactivated. When your personal user account is deactivated, all resources registered to you personally at the URZ (function accounts, IP address reservations, capacities in the backup service, etc.) will be deleted.

Therefore, please make sure to transfer the resources to another user during the grace period (if still required). Your personal user account will be permanently deleted 1 year after the authorisation to use it expires.

In deviation from the standard grace period mentioned above, a grace period of only 4 weeks applies to employees of the University Medical Centre (UMG). This shortened grace period was set up at the request of the UMG.

Voluntary premature account deletion

All persons who have a guest account or whose account has exceeded the validity date can delete their account independently in the account administration before the end of the grace period.
